How to Build a Brand that your Clients will Love

how to build a brand

I get approached a lot about the topic ‘How to Build a Brand’ and I always answer by saying: customers buy from brands with certain characteristics. These characteristics cement the relationship between you (or your business) and your clients. Nurturing good customer relationships is important to growing your business.

With that said, there is need to build a brand that clients will love, anticipate and depend on for the solutions they may be looking for.

The increase in consumer use of the Internet reduces the chances of any brand hiding. Moreover, the sole reason for going online is to become visible, so why hide? The messages that your brand communicates will announce your intentions to the market. It is important to build credibility so that you know what your promise is to your audience and they too know what to expect.

The following are some tips on how to build a brand clients will love

Treat Your Customers Well

Treat one customer right and she or he will tell four to six people about their wonderful experience with your brand. This is a great way to influence positive word of mouth. Uphold high standards of customer relations and treat every client as a person representing the business. Embrace etiquette and courtesy from the very beginning of your interaction.

What is Your Brand Message?

Like earlier mentioned, your brand message clearly states what your business is after. You cannot put price, service, product, innovations, sustainability, quality, etc. all in one basket. Your core values should determine what message to carry in your content. You must identify the reason for your being to come up with clear messages that you can send in ads and social media sites. Your brand messages should be specific about the products you have and how they will help your audience solve their problems.

Build Trust

It does not matter what you have achieved as a company or the awards you have received. Rather, what matter is how what you are selling will benefit your customers. Customers will have nothing to do with your company being mentioned among top ten SMBs of the year, but will be more concerned about how your dental guard will help them catch some sleep at night. In other words, what is in your brand that customers cannot get elsewhere? The messages you send should be compelling and trigger customers’ decision to purchase.

Be Consistent and Continue to Satisfy

Once you know what to include in you message and make it compelling, you should make it repeatable. Do not strive to be the best in the industry but to be consistent. Maximize consistency in your methods, systems and services and clients will love your brand. If at some point you fail in your efforts to be consistent, identify the lose buttons and tighten. Be consistent in content publication and keep your promise to the customers. Repeat your successes until they become automatic.

Respect Your Customers

Respect your customers in every situation; whether addressing an issue about your company or helping them solve their problem. Always listen to what your customers have to say and respect their opinions and views. Be patient and allow the customer give feedback. Sometimes, the customer may be wrong but how you handle him or her can determine whether you will keep a repeat customer or lose a one-time buyer.

The above tips will make customers be loyal to your brand. Walt Disney said “Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends.” Make your customers fall in love with your brand so they can speak positively about your business to their friends.
